I buy items occasionally that are not covered by USPS insurance, and yet the seller uses it which makes it obvious they are using it for like items too. But this presents a big problem to sellers on ebay who use ebay branded shipping supplies. Or by the same logic in denial of coverage examples above, it seems they could even exclude any package or label with a USPS logo or even the "ebay or paypal" logo on the label itself.

Seems like sellers shouldn't use shipsurance. Anyone seeking to run a business that depends on insuring expensive items should seek out an all risk policy, that covers items in transit instead of a per package type of insurance. I had shipsurance for a while before my all risk policy but I never had a claim so I can't speak from experience on how I was treated there.

I for some reason decided to read through their entire policy of what is or isn't covered and discovered that they had basically excluded so much that paying anything for their insurance was a complete waste of money.

The only person that knows the package is insured is you and eBay. Only higher value items would be likely to be insured — a better target for theft.
