Where is forza horizon based

Since the arrival of the first title in the series six years ago, each Horizon has featured a densely detailed, near photo-realistic reproduction of real-world geography. The first was in Colorado, the second was southern France and northern Italy, the third , Australia.

The setup is always the same: players take part in a festival where they drive dozens of beautiful cars through a vast backdrop, getting involved in a range of races and challenges, but mostly just drinking in the exotic locales.

This time, however, the team brought the game home. Forza Horizon 4 is set in an idealised Britain that, while not precisely based on real places apart from a scaled version of Edinburgh , takes the geography, architecture, flora and fauna of each location and replicates them in gorgeous detail.

However, there were passionate advocates on the team who kept pitching Britain every time a new project started. Then, in the early days of Horizon 4, the programmers achieved a technical advance that made the choice more logical: dynamic seasons.

The best you can hope for is a day-night cycle. But in Forza 4, the game world goes through a complete seasonal year every real-time week. You start out in glorious sunshine, but after a few days of play, the nights draw in and the skies become cloudy, then snowy. To capture the look and feel of Britain through the year, the Playground art team spent months travelling the country, taking photographs and videos of each location and capturing seasonal variance.

For Forza 3, the team developed a method of using 4K degree cameras and time-lapse photography to capture realistic sky and cloud data — they sat out in the desert for weeks, pointing cameras up at the heavens. This imagery was then imported into the game, making for astonishingly authentic sky maps. For Forza 4, they did it again, but this time they went back several times, recapturing the same villages, mountains and coastal regions for spring, summer, autumn and winter.

At Microsoft's E3 showcase, Playground presented a more in-depth gameplay trailer that goes into detail about the new features and tech underlying this release. It's seven minutes long and covers everything from the new event types to the individual needles rendered on every cactus.

Playground also showed off lots of gameplay footage at Gamescom this year, including a deep-dive into many of the Forza Horizon 5's new features. We also got two new trailers. The first is a cover car reveal that gives us a closer look at some of the game's gorgeous vehicle models driving through the Mexican landscape:. The second trailer shows off eight minutes of gameplay. Highlights include cars parachuting out of cargo planes, racing down the side of an active volcano, and driving into a massive dust storm.

This time, the festival moves to Mexico. The map includes 11 different biomes, highlighting the variety of the country:. You can see most of these biomes on the Forza Horizon 5 map. The trailers really show off the Mexican landscape , and how we can expect the game's dynamnic weather system to alter these biomes. For Forza Horizon 5, a new event type has been added to the campaign: Expeditions.

These task players with travelling to a new part of the map. In a Eurogamer interview , Mike Brown calls Expeditions "a curated experience through the world where you'll have a character who really excitedly calls out all the cool things you can see. Brown references tropical storms and an active volcano: things that can happen in free roam, but are guaranteed to be showcased in the curated mode.

Other new features include Horizon Arcade, which is Forza Horizon 5's replacement of its predecessor's underwhelming Forzathon Live. The Deluxe Edition is priced at Rs. The latest Horizon title, as mentioned earlier, is available in three editions — Standard, Deluxe, and Premium. The pre-load for Forza Horizon 5 is already live and last month, Playground Games announced the size requirements for the various platforms the game is available in.

For the fifth iteration of the Forza Horizon franchise, Playground Games is taking players to Mexico. Players will now be driving on the right-hand-side of the road, where the previous two games were based on left-hand-side driving countries in Australia and the UK.

One of the major additions to the game is the Horizon Arcade, which is essentially a rebranded Forzathon Live.
