They get shipped to Mexico for aging tequila, Scotland for aging Scotch or elsewhere to store all kinds of things, including coffee, tobacco, beer and maple syrup. Where does all the corn and other grain go after it's done making bourbon?

It's known as distiller's grain or more charmingly as "slop" and when the distillers are done with it, it gets shipped off to farms to be used as feed for cows. Yep, that's the circle of life in Kentucky, friends. Nothing can be added to bourbon in the distilling process except water. So, that means that all the flavor comes from the charred oak barrels the picture below shows the charring process at Brown-Forman.

And, that's why when Wild Turkey wanted to add honey to their bourbon, it became Wild Turkey Liqueur and was later renamed American Honey.

Jack Daniels? It's largely identical to bourbon except for one key difference: It's filtered through maple charcoal. Nothing is added that might enhance flavor, add sweetness or alter color. Proof - Bourbon is bottled at between 80 and proof. Only water may be used to lower the proof of the alcohol. Location — Bourbon can be made anywhere in the US. Rye is the second grain used in Bourbon, it adds dry, spicy, peppery flavors to the character of the whiskey.

Examples of Bourbons with high rye content include. Wheat adds elegance and a soft, smooth character, often with hints of nuts and cinnamon. Whiskeys with high wheat content include. Of course, they understood that would not be in the program's best interests, but it shows losing is unacceptable. They have every right to do so though. Mediocrity is not welcomed at places such as there, Chapel Hill, Durham, or Lawrence. Understand that Kentucky fans are not crazy or lunatics for setting the standards so high that they are nearly unreachable.

If you think that is ridiculous, then you need to step back and evaluate your favorite program. You should want the goals to be extreme because it makes everyone work harder and brings out the best.

Kentucky is the Harvard and Yale of college basketball. Those Ivy League schools set ridiculous marks to get the best students in the country, and people are praised for reaching them.
